So, with the help of some friends and some sample testing I decided to paint my ordinary longcase clock.....Extraordinary "Peacock Feather" Blue! What do you think? It is pretty bold and gives a lot of life to our living room. If you saw my post before about trying to decide between two blue colors, the other shade of blue had too much green in it for the color scheme of the room.
On the corner of the mantle is one of the Terrariums I made. That one has a super cute little white owl that my mother found for me at Target, I believe.
Read my post "How to make a Terrarium" if you want to make your own.
You can find the link to the color I used HERE.
If this blue alone is too bright and bold for your liking, try adding a glaze on top of your paint to tame down the
color.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!

Deletei love this clock , i've been looking for a grandfather clock to redo, no luck yet, i would love to feature yours , if that would be ok with you please let me know,
ReplyDeletelauren
I would be honored to be featured :) I'm so glad you like it. I too searched around for a used grandfather clock, but as you probably have noticed they are very expensive. I found this one on amazon for 100 bucks. Although the quailty is not as nice as the antique ones, I liked that it had a round clock face.

ReplyDeleteHi Christina!
ReplyDeleteI tried to find an email address to contact you, but I see you don't have one up yet. I was delighted to feature your amazing clock. Since you are new, check out this post (not from my blog)
http://www.pleasant-home.com/2010/12/so-exciting-less-no-reply-bloggers.html
You are a "no reply" blogger so when you left a comment for me, I couldn't just respond back (just hitting the reply button) So maybe you can set that up and it will help when you leave comments and when people want to reply to you. I didn't realize I was a no reply blogger for about 6 months into my blog and would wonder why people didn't get back to me on a comment, (I was almost thinking wow, this blogging community is rude!) but, they couldn't even respond to my comment easily! Anyway, this is long! Sorry!
Keep up the amazing work! Selina
Pretty! Thank you for sharing this. Love the colour!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I love the color too. :)
